It all depends on how good of a paint job you want. They can range anywhere from around $400 up into the thousands. When my friends firebird was hit, he got a really good paint job done on it. It took $300 in paint just for the drivers side door and rear fender. So its really up to you how much your willing to spend. Call around to some local paint shops and get some estimates.

To get the whole exterior of the car done, you're looking at probably anywhere between $1000-2000 for a quality job.

My friend just had his MX6 repainted red by maaco...looks great....there was a spot in the bumper that they offered to clean it up for like 250$ so the paint would take better but he said screw it (there is a rut and run there)...but overall it looks great.....as close to factory as you could ask and for 600$ it was a good deal...i mean.....no paintjob is gonna look "factory" for under 1500$.....but for 600$ is looks REALLY good....i have no idea how they prepped it or how the paint is gonna last.....but there are no runs....the car looked like it was moderately prepped (moldings, trim etc) and there are no pollutants in the finish...ince and smooth...it looks really sharp....from 10 feet it looks brand new....at 1 foot you can't see any imperfections....im sure if you really look it over you would find spots....but it looks great....if you want a really nice job pay 1000$.....

Paint it yourself if you have lots of free time like I do.
You just need to practice alot and take time on it.
I'm planning on painting my bumper myself (The paint is all peeling and it looks awful).

Yea....but how good is it gonna look? Not everyone has the tools required to do a professional quality paintjob. You need to prep it (all the tools required) then you need to paint it (Which takes great care and skill + tools) and then you need a place to "bake" or let the paint dry in a clean dust free environment to keep contaminants from getting on the paint as it dries.....

Don't paint it yourself if you don't know what you are doing. It will turn out like azz, and you will spend more in the long run, because you'll eventually have to get it done professionally

Just remember. You get what you pay for when it comes to paint jobs.
