Z12 Glass Cleaner and Rear Window Defogger

Any issue with using Z12 on the inside of the rear window and damaging the rear window defogger?

I understand that Z12 is slightly abrasive... didn't know if it'd be a problem or not.

Actually Z-12 is HIGHLY abrasive, I would probably not use it on the lines if you can feel them from the inside.

OK, thanks for the info Kevin.

I am thinking I am going to order Z12 with my next order, because interior window film is driving me INSANE ... but it looks like I am going to need to find an alternative for the inside of the rear window...

Personnally, I only use Z-12 on the outside of the glass, I have never used it on the inside.

For the film I use Invisible Glass and or z-6

The film will be worse if you use something like Armor All on your interior parts or leave your car for long periods of time in the hot sun with all the windows up.

Hmmm... Z6 on the interior of the glass, eh?

Maybe I'll give that a try. Windex just doesn't do the job...

No Armor All here (though I do use Z9 on occasion (far superior, IMO))

Try using newspaper along with the Windex and see if that helps (instead of towel/rag, etc.). Always leaves a streak-free finish for me.

Ya, I could give that a try... I have always shyed away from the newspaper thing, visualizing this "inky mess" in my head.

Are you supposed to fold the newpaper into squares, or crumple it up into a big wad? I have heard both...

If you have tinted windows I would not use any kind of paper on the film, use a cotton cloth or micro fiber...

I have no aftermarket tinting... the only thing I really have to be take into consideration is the afore mentioned rear window defogger...

When I use newspaper, I fold it into a square.

And no, it amazingly doesn't leave behind any ink or discernable residue. I don't know how/why it works, but it sure does!

OK, you've convinced me enough to give it a shot anyway...

Do you use a lot of Windex or just a light spray?
