Zaino: Experiemented - ZFX vs. NO ZFX.. NO DIFF??
I decided to see if the ZFX indeed speeds up the drying process.
I Wiped one side of my hood with Z2 (NO ZFX), and then took out 2 mins and mixed in the 2oz. bottle Z2 and ZFX. Applied it to the other side of the hood.
Waited approx 45mins, returned.. Assuming the NO ZFX would be wet (as it's said it takes overnight to dry), I was shocked to discover BOTH were dry exactly the same.
Does this indeed mean ZFX does not do anything? I mean, heck.. $30 for 2ml is not exactly cheap :-)
I mix 1/2 oz. Z2 with 1-2 drops ZFX.
If I do 1 oz and 2-3 drops ZFX I waste 1/2 oz as I have 1/2 oz remaining after the 3 coats.

HOWEVER, I believe you MUST wait 24 hours to recoat the car with Z2 or Z5 if you do not use the ZFX. The 24 hours is a curing time needed for the polish to properly adhere to the previous coat. By using ZFX, the
CURING time is greatly diminished, and you can immediately topcoat the car with up to 2 additional coats for a total of 3 coats in a 24 hour period.
So to sum it up, the main feature of the ZFX is so you can put up to 3 coats on in a 24 hour timespan. The faster drying when using ZFX is nice, but is not really what it is made for. If you do not use ZFX, it may or may not dry as fast, but you still have to wait 24 hours before topcoating it.
Chip in here if I'm wrong Kevin, but I believe I am correct.

That is correct! ZFX is unique, in that it only requires only about 5-10 minutes(usually not more than 20) to dry, if applied in thin layers, as instructed. The drying time will also be affected by the temperature, obviously, so the hotter, and less humid it is, the quicker it will dry. No more than 3 coats in a 24 hour period.

Same here, when I finish applying it is already dry on the areas I started on. Without the ZFX it doesn't. Waiting 45 minutes isn't a very good test since, both SHOULD be dry.
Your analogy is like comparing 2 long distance runners. One may run the mile in 5 minutes and the other is very slow and does it in 15 minutes, but you wait 20 minutes to see if they are finished and they are. Then saying because they were both done by 20 minutes they are they run the same times.

You have to remember which Kevin is which. Kevin SS is the TN Zaino distributor and me, Kevin V 2002 SS, I'm not a Zaino distributor. I do keep ALOT of extra supplies on hand for all the locals around the Louisville, KY area though.
And Carl don't confuse them with your "theory"!!!!
