zainoing after a winter

Last year just before winter came I started using zaino. I ended up with probably about 10-15 coats total of z2 and z5 with zfx and z6 in between. All winter I never waxed the car, I drove it as little as possible but it still got really dirty a few times but I washed it fairly often. Finally, the snow has started melting and today I decided to take it for a wash. I was surprised at how good the paint still looks (no bad scratches or dings), I did notice a couple spots with minor clear coat scratches (a couple bastards must have opened their doors into mine ) nothing major at all. I was thinking of going over the whole car or just the bad spots with a scratch remover and a buffer. Do I need to clean the zaino off with something first? Can I just use the scratch remover then dawn the car and start zainoing again? What would you guys recommend? Thanks.

Lightbulb Sounds like a plan....

You're on the right track! No need to remove the Zaino first, because the swirl and scratch removers will remove it for you. You might also want to clay the car too if you have some extra time. This will ensure you're using the swirl remover over a contaminant free surface, which should help it turn out a little better and also ensures you're not grinding contaminants into the finish with the buffer. Anyhow, I'd just wash, clay, then use the swirl/scratch remover in the affected area until it meets your approval. Afterwards you'll need to wash with either the Zaino soap or Dawn.....then you're ready for the Zaino.
