Zainoing and waiting....

OK I'm zainoing this weekend......I got Z1,2,5-7

-So I wash with dawn, do I use a shammy or towel to dry?
-claybar...Do I wash after I claybar? Wash with Z1 or dawn again? If so, dry with towel or shammy? To claybar I use 1/2 capfull and 12 oz of water and put it in a spray bottle, spray then clay?
-Or do I clay, then dawn?
-Then I use Z1 and immediatly put on Z5? Wait an hour (or till dry) then Z2 it? Wait an hour again and Z5 then another hour and Z2? That sound good? Or does it have to be buffed at any point? Is this the one that has to be removed with the towel?
-Do I use Z6 before and after each coat of Z2 and Z5?

So does this sound right?
Dawn
Clay (with the Z7 as a lube)
Z7 Car Wash
Z1 and Z2 at the same time
Z6 wait a day
Z2 wait till dry
Z6 " "
Z5 " "
Z6 ""
Z2
Wash and I'm done?

Is it necessary to wait a day after the initial Z6?

Here's the steps I would follow if I were you:

Dawn soap
Clay bar with Z7 as a lubricant
Z7 to wash the car

Start with either Z-1 Polish Lok it does not need to dry. Remember do not wipe off the Z-1 Polish Lok

Apply Z-5 or Z-2 directly over the Z-1.

Let Z-5 or Z-2 polish dry at least one hour. To test if Z-2 or Z-5 is dry and ready to be removed. Wipe your finger on a hazed section. It should immediately come off and leave a crytal clear finish. If it smears, it is still wet. You can leave Z-2 or Z-5 on for hours or overnight if you desire.

After removal of Zaino Z-2 or Z-5. You should wait 24 hours if the outside temperature is under 70 degrees and 6 hours if over 70 degrees, before applying the next coat of Z-5 or Z-2.

Use Z-6 "Gloss Enhancer" spray as per directions, between each and every coat of Z-5 or Z-2. It really helps give a three dimensional look.

Sorry if some of the sentences are choppy, but that's pretty much what I do on my car, I just copied/pasted from here:

1) Wash with DAWN, dry with whatever you like best. I use the Absorber and Microfiber personally, others prefer their own methods. As long as it isn't scratching, marring, or causing other ill effects, use whatever you like best.

2) Clay the car using Z7. You won't need to wash again if you used Z7 as the lube.....just dry and you're ready for the polishes. I use about 1 to 1 1/2 capfuls of Z7 to a 5 gallon bucket of clean water. I use my clean wash mitt to spread the suds/water, then clay away.

3) Z6 entire car, if you have Z6? (Not sure you said you bought Z6 or not)

3) Dry the car again. Apply Z1 to entire car, do NOT buff off Z1. Apply Z2 or Z5 over the hazed Z1, and let both products thoroughly dry. Apply the products in VERY thin layers. After it dries, I recommend you use Microfiber for the buffing, but the good ole 100% cotton towel will work as well. You can test to see if the products are ready to be removed using the finger wipe test. If you see a clear area where you wiped it is dried. If you see smears, let it dry longer.

4) Z6 car again for the ultimate shine and slickness.

5) You'll have to wait 12 to 24 hours to apply another coat of Z2 or Z5, but repeat the same process except you don't need to use Z1 again. Z1 is applied every 6 months or every 8 to 10 coats of polish.

6) Enjoy the protection and shine!

This is the standard process I'd go through from scratch if the car has never had Zaino. Of course if you need to do any prep work like swirl removing, that needs to come after claying and before the Zaino.

It's interesting that there are some slight differences in how we do this. Here is how i do it, and in fact, did it 3 times last weekend.
1)wash car with a solution on Dawn and water.
2) I don't bother to dry it, i just immed. start to clay it. I have a spray bottle of Z7 and water solution i use as a lube for the CB.
3)Hose off entire car and wash with Z7.
4) This is where you would apply the Z1(i used ZFX)
5)Apply Z2..wait at least an hour and wipe off.
6)Wait 24 hours and reapply the Z2.
7) Repeat step 6 a bunch of times...lol
You can use the Z6 between applications of Z2 fi you wish. If you have swirls and need to use the Z5, then use that for the firts 2-3 coats, until the swirls are gone, then switch to Z2.

My PT has never been thru a carwash, and has only had ZAINO since it was new. It is a dark color and has NO swirls.
