Any good local places that will rebuild a rear end?

Hi,
I finally fixed my missfire, ended up being the #6 wire, looked all crooked and cockeyed. Anyway, after i replaced the wires, my car runs like new again. But with my hp, and torque restored, i think the rear end, or transmission are showing their wear. Once the car is hot, it will start grinding vibration somewhere in the drivetrain, instead of sending the power to the rear wheels. It doesen't happen under normal accelleration, only when i get on it in gear, or when shifting gears. It almost feels like the transmission is slowly slipping into gear while it grinds. The rpm's do not change though, so i wouldn't think it was a tranny problem. My rear end has always made wierd whining noises, but now it makes some godawful noises when i go around a corner at low speed. It sounds like its coming from more towards the back of the car vs the middle.

If it ends up being the rear end, how much can i expect to pay for a rebuild from a local shop, best and worst case scenario? and who would you recommend to do it.
