hey guys just posting this to see whats up around town, the construction site I work at and for might be slowing down to recoupe lost money, that means laying us off. This might be in the next 2 weeks, just seeing if there is anything in the area for at least $12 an hour? Im not just looking for construction or painting anything would be cool....

look in the orlando classifieds, they have lots of good paying jobs in there sometimes..

I want to get out of my construction job, but I need to find a job to replace it with that makes atleast $15/hr with atleast 40 hours/week first, haha.

Man I tell you I was making $25.00 an hour bringing home some good bucks for what I know in Boston...12 years being a prof. painter, it had its rewards...I come down here and everything I know is worth S#!T they want all fast and crappy job done, the construction site I work it the place is put together with popsicle sticks and glue..and painted like crap...cus they want it like that...

Wish I knew where some decent painters and companies were...$12 an hour is a slap in the face for me for what I know. But thats about what painters get down here...stupid thing is its all these companies hiring cheep labor..illegals and mexicans down here to get the job done...makes pros like me not usefull down here...

I feel your pain, Been there. I was in the paint biz in NYC before coming here & I looked into the way things were done here ,it blew my mind. $ is sh*t, no unions, I looked otherways immediatly. Good luck. Do you have some computer skills? If so try Orlando Regional med. center. Look at their website in the Human resource section. Patient care coordinator job pays about 10-12hr. Also they have a security dept. I'm not sure what & if they are paying/hiring. I had to go back to school when I moved here as a displaced worker, Doing well now.
