glad to see we can take humour lightly.
i was talking with the crane rep while he was there. they aren't trying for a drag strip bruiser. the most flogging this car will see he said was on the dyno. they are thinking of putting 18" or 19" wheels on it. it is an attempt at attracting the younger crowd.

so it's not far off.

agreed there. i had a 94 z28 and a 94 formy at the same time. identical motor, auto, and 2.73 gears. the z28 went 13.98 the formy went 14.40. the formy have 20k less miles on it. talked with vinci. they said deck heights on the motors varied so much it was pathetic.

i used to own a 95 v6 manual before the 94s. ran 16.9 stock winter timen stock replacement filter, flowmaster dual outlet muffler, under drive pulleys, superchips design my chip ( got it free because they needed a guinea pig). dropped to 16.3 summer time.
but hey i was trying to boost you up there. you might have had mods.

Please remember that Vinci has a policy of dyno'ing all cars with the hood down. I'm not sure if they use fans. This does make a large difference in the results.
Most shops do it with the hood open - I think more or less so that they're on a level playing field with other national shops. However, Roger feels this isn't the correct way to do it. Just makes it hard to do direct comparisons.

first of all...........i seriously doubt that having the hood up makes much of a difference, except if you were doing many dyno runs in a row and the engine got too hot.
second.........running on the dyno without fans IS DUMB.
i would never goto a shop that ran dynos without fans.
when a car makes a WOT run on the street.......tons of air is forced across the engine, keeping it at proper operating temps.
when on the dyno, no fan is going to be able to duplicate the airflow of the real world, but not having a fan at all is just rediculous, especially here in florida, or on boosted cars.
