Unhappy I need money to mod my car.........Can anyone help me out ?

Ok,

So I'm 16...had my license for what will be a year in june. No tickets or anything. Never been in trouble with the law,I have excellent grades, and a OK ride. I seem to be having trouble finding a job. Everywhere I go they're either not hiring or "taking applications".....I call back to my hearts content and still get nowhere. I'm so frustrated I don't know what to do. I refuse to sit down another summer watching everyone else go by me. All I'm asking for is a job. I'm very talented I can do car audio(everything from amps to DVD's),I have experience doing mechanical stuff like replaceing gaskets, heads, exuast systems,AC's,Alternaters,tires,etc.......There's nothing I can't do. I'm good at what I do. I have constant reliable transpertation. Honest and good with people. Does anyone know if they can help me out finding a job "anywhere" preferably in some can kind of shop if possible. Can anyone help me out here ?

i saw a banner at olive garden on 50 just east of alfaya saying they were hiring. you could always try universal or even disney, but i've heard many complaints about working for disney. universal and disney are always hiring for something. i had a hard time finding a job here in orlando, so i drive 30 min out by sea world to work. i'll keep my eyes open for something.

I also heard superwalmart is always hiring... from what I heard they have a little over 1,000 employees so someone is always leaving.

Try all the different tire shops. ( Allied,Tire Kingdom,Goodyear).
They are a good starter job changing tires and most will get you ASE cert. as well as get some experience on many brands of cars. Atleast they used to. Thats what a friend of mine did now he works at a Dodge dealership as a service adviser. Making killer cash I might add and getin killer discounts.

Try Action Gator Tire on 436 and Red Bug. Talk to Damon (Manager) up there. He's a real good guy. Maybe he has an opening.

suck it up and try for something that you don't really like...it will be a job at least.

fast food, grocery stores, things like that.

and i thought walmart hires 16 and up for chasing carts.

heck there's always paper routes...lol and pizza delivery

I did pizza delievery when i was 16. But i didnt have a z28. I had a 150 dollar cavalier. I made about 10-12 bucks an hour in a town of 2000 people. I then moved to Tampa and have valeted all through college. Making 10 bucks an hour valet is bad. Good spots will get much much more. but u have to be 18 i believe or have a hook up / under the table set up. Worked at a grocery store for awhile (hated it). But had to start doing something. Right now some friends and I are opening up a performance shop and are hiring people but your in Orlando.. so it's a bit to far. Grand opening May 1st.
I do side work on cars right now also. Im known in tampa for my window motor replacements. I undercut the other shops and dealerships by far so people bring there cars to my place for window motor replacements. I happened upon the nich by accident. So u could always do something like that.

HOpe you find something you like. But take any job for now but continue searching and interviewing at other places.

ZDriver96, what do you charge to replace a motor? my passenger side is going out so i haven't used it in over a year. i have friends over in clearwater so driving that way wouldn't be a problem if i go visit them.

And Predatorbird I charge 35 dollars in labor. Just supply the motor and i'll put it in. I live in New tampa where i usually do it. I'll start doing them at the shop too when it opens up on the 1st.

Awsome thanks !

I got a guy in palatka who is my shop man so far as machine work and stuff goes he has a engine lift too. We're building my best friends turbo 300ZX shooting for over 600HP. The block so far is worth about 450. That's not including the turbo. He's only the best of everything. Running about say 20-25 PSI I'm not sure exactly but I do know everything WILL be oringed. ME persoanlly I wanna run turbo's but not with a carborater . And I don't think finding and rebuilding a GN motor and dropping it in will be any less cheaper...or will it ?

What I did was mow yards for a while. You should check to see if your school has any internships/connections with places. I remember when I couldn't wait to turn 16 to start working. Then I find out all of the good paying jobs won't take you when your under 18. I feel your pain in finding a job.
Few places to check: Winndixie, Tire places like the others have said, little stores (like a bakery or dollar stores) which might even pay you under the table=not having taxes taken out of your pay.
Good luck
Ryan
