January MSCC Autocross Event

If anybody is interested in pushing their cars to the limits without fear of prosecution, the next Martin Sports Car Club event is next Saturday, 1/11/03. I will be the event coordinator for this month and the course I have prepared is specifically designed for larger high powered cars to be able to show their stuff. More info is available at www.martinsportscarclub.com or you can email me at chjesthe@hotmail.com for any other questions. All cars are welcome except SUVs and Toyota Echos.

Here is an image of the track layout.

Here is a movie of what you're missing.

Saturday?

I might be able to make it but I say that every month , We jsut had a death in the family and I am driving up to Northern Indiana, this weekend for the funeral. Don't worrynot taking my car with bald tires.

hey chuck, wanna hear soemthing funny, my tires are about 14 months old and 2 of them are flat bald, other 2 are on there way there, and we have a car with same tire, same model, same size(kinda wierd because it was random) and they have nearly 80% tread on them.

And after last autocross... errr... understeer-athon I need to move the ones with tread to the front, anyways the dragstrip is closed

Unhappy

Dangit! All my tires are bald. I'm replacing the rears tomorrow, but the fronts not until after an alignment, which is after replacing the front shocks. Figures I'd miss the course which isn't as technical .

I also would have my 4-year old with me, and she can't ride with me obviously.

its looking bleak for me....

I am having some car troubles... well what I consider car troubles, I don't want to push a 2 hour round trip drive and a autocross, I am losing oil, pretty bad. And on top of worrying about my car, I don't really want to be that guy taht takes his car to the track leaking fluids all over the place.

I thought I took car of what would be the problem last night, but I doubt it fonna go check my car now, and hope maybe its simple like my new drain plug.

IF you guys want a little more insite, or help, I got another thread going on about it. its on a 3.4l, but Universal tech for a 2.8, or 3.1L, maybe all GM 60* v6s.

hey chuck count me out, which sucks, you have a nice course I really wanted to hit it dry... even had thoughts of putting a rental on a credit card.

I think my car woudl make it, but I honestly think I would lose 1-2 quarts drivng there and racing, I could addd it as I go but i am not burning it I am leaking it, don't want to ruin it for others, and i have all day tomorrow to fix it.

I am hoping jsut oil pressure sending unit, if I get stuff done I might cruise down and watch, but I got some insite form 94grayv6 (mike I think he met you at the dragstrip last itme i was there) about a problem he had with the part the actual oil filter itslef attaches too cracking, and getting replaced.

we will see.... more money into the pit.

Sometimes I consider a new car then I think what could I get better then this for the money?

We decided to run the course in reverse. Not the gear! Just the direction. It made life very interesting to say the least. Instead of exiting a slow corner into an increasing radius sweeper turning into a long straight, it turned into a long fast shoot ending in a decreasing radius turn followed immediately by a tight 180+ degre turn. Talk about light in the rear end. I hit 60 MPH in competition. I hit 64 in my first fun run. But the steering wheel saw full right lock shortly there after. I saved it but then the antilock took over thinking I was crashing and I couldn't slow down for the next gate. Lot's of fun none the less!

BTW - I won GT Stock again. There were only 3 of us. Dave in his 99 Stang GT Convertible, and Deborah in her 95 Z28 Convertible gave me a good run for the money though. It was cool. 3 verts in the same class. Bob Palmblad got the super charger back in his Miata and it's working awesome. He turned in times faster than the karts! Absolutely increadible. He's pumping somewhere around 20 pounds of boost in that thing. It doesn't sound like a bad power steering pump anymore either. Sorry you didn't show. But there's always next month.

Hey, since you're up ...

I think the flyer which came out after the Maxi-Prix showed me as having trophied, but I hung around the stand at the end and wasn't aware of it.

I read in the next edition that there were a bunch of unclaimed awards, etc. If I do have one waiting somewhere, how long do they hold onto it? I doubt I'll be out before April, since that's the next Maxi-Prix. I'm hoping to get a T2R (shh!) and some 3.73's for city driveability before then. Doubt I'll have R tires nor dedicated race rims though

I'll ask for you. They should still be able to get you the trophy.

That guy is just an awesome driver. I remember back at my first MSCC event I had him ride with me and I cut ~5sec off my previous run just by doing what he told me to as we went around the course. He knew my car better than I did!

One of these days I'll ask him to drive my car on a fun run so I can see what its really capable of.

Congrats on yet another win Chuck! As soon as I get another job i'll be out there again too...
