Not to burn on anyone, cuz it's cool to have really speedy-quick cars, but why put 20k into a 3k-9k car, when by the time you're done you could've had a vette (could be any car)?

Please avoid the flaming, I just don't understand. Your cars are still awesome though.

Had a vette... The Camaro Z-28 or T/A has the same motor, more room and more in my option appeal...

I just used the Corvette as an example... it could be any speedy-quick car that's more expensive.

Same reply... Nothing is more worthy than an Fbody... Guys like to go fast and there is not too many fast cars out there for under 50,000. You pay for the name with some of these cars. Guys like to improve on what ever they buy... The Camaro/Firebird are great cars for both style and improvement. I have had a Vette, and a Nova, and modified them both... Both were extremely bad and fast cars... Remember the IROC?

Cause I just like them My buds at work say I should sell a couple of the F-Bods and buy like a Viper or something. While it sounds tempting, I'd miss the Camaros so can't bring myself to sell em

if i had a vette. the sticker price and the payment amount wouldnt leave much room to buy parts.

also, insurance price. its hard enough to pay for a 20year old with a camaro.

Because we can.

There is no other reason. It's a hobby, and hobbies cost money. Some hobbies cost lots of money. This is one such hobby.

I wanted an older Z with modern updates. I wanted a car that was 100% solid, 100% straight, and 100% rust free, so I used my '80, which I bought with 28k original miles on it back in 1991. I'm coming up on $20k in goods, and I'm not done yet.

I owned a Vette for four years (while also having the Z). I could afford to purchase any one of the cars that are in the realm of the sane for price (e.g. BMW M3, Z06, etc.), but I have no real drive to do so. If I were all about image, I probably would, because, let's face it, almost no amount of money in a 2nd gen Camaro is going to advance your image.

I enjoy this car more. Why? Because I do. There it is.

P.S. Insurance on the Vette (a new C4) was cheaper than my Honda Accord. $630/year, 28 & married at that time.

I can't list everything, I don't have the time nor the memory, but spread between 2 cars, my 88 IROC and my 84 Z, I'm probably around the $30k mark by the end of next month, engine rebuilds, damages, race car build up, transmissions, converters, race engine build up and rebuilds after breakages etc etc. Thats why I refuse to sell my IROC even tho I bought an 01 WS6 - I don't see the point in selling a car with more than $15k in it for <$5k, id rather keep the car Ofcourse my neighbors think I'm nuts for havin 2 3rd gens and a 4th gen on my driveway, but i don't care, they call the cops if i let my 383 idle for 5 mins n say im doin 60 down the street - im flattered they think my car can get up to 60 n have enough braking distance in my short street

It is all clear now. Just cause it costs more doesn't make it better. Great points. I am enlightened.

And now I want my f-bodies back.

Well, I never intended to spend that much. I have gotten past the denial phase, though

For me it started out wanting to be faster than most cars on the street and still needing a rear seat. All that extra factory stuff in a more costly vehicle would not add that certain j'ne sais quoi which makes the car unique. I also get satisfaction from learning how to work on the car myself.

You want your f-bodies back? Where'd they go?
