license plate covers

has anyone tried to run with a fogged / smoked / tinted license plate cover in central FL, or on UCF property? how bad are the cops about them?

I've had a fogged license plate cover since '97 and was never given any trouble about it.

Ditto, had a cop say something about after I was pulled over, but it was in passing and not a take-it off command. Had one on and off campus.... it's dark too

One of my friends has one on his Z28. I dont think he has had any trouble from cops about it.

there is a state statue that prohibits any covering of the license plate. i've even heard of people getting a ticket for the clear plastic license plate cover. i don't pull people over for it unless it's so dark i can't read the plate. even after i pull someone over i don't write the ticket, just a warning. But there are some out there that will write that ticket...
