Thank's AJ,
We are a new shop on the scene and it is tough starting out..but we feel we have a high quality package and a very experienced staff here..We are also the only company to offer our own cold air induction package for the GTO's..and it is a very nice peice of work. The $7,995.00 package only included heads and cam plus longtubes with off-road pipe. But to each his own I guess. I did not mean to come off as defensive, sorry about that. I beleive I know your car as well...Navy blue SS, CNC heads and cam package right? If so, your car run's very well and look's nice too I have lot's of respect for the shop not being mentioned, They do high quality work and they are good people over there..we are just trying to offer the same quality at more affordable prices...The "you get what you pay for" slogan does not apply with us at MASC as much..we trust in high quality part's at prices the average enthusiest can afford, Because let's face it..LS1/LS6 stuff is just downright expensive! lol. .We are working on an LT1/LT4 head and cam package at the moment as well...The last LT1 car I did with my personal Stage 2 head's and custom cam package hit 424 RWHP..and I am making revisions to the cylinder head's..but Keeping the same camshaft in the package, because it has proven itself worthy time and time again. Thank's

AJ, glad to hear about your interest in our shop. Everything you point out about the importance of quality, ability, and workmanship is absolutely true. We have a great relationship with a local tuner whose dyno we have utilized in the past to tune cars such as a Lexus SC300 w/ a Supra Twin Turbo motor, a few heads/cam LT1s, and a GTO a while back (before they came out). By utilizing a local dyno rather than purchasing our own as of yet means savings passed on to the owner of the dyno as well as ourselves, which ultimately leads to lower prices for both of our customers.
Indeed it's difficult to gauge the quality of a shop that is the new kid on the block; however, we have all worked at local speed shops in the past, know many of the members of local clubs, and have many references from those clubs mentioned that can guarantee the quality of our individual abilities. We have a history within the local clubs of having the right bolt-ons and go-fast goodies to get the job done on our own vehicles and have spent more than a few weekends or late nights helping fellow car guys modify their cars free of charge. When the occasional weekend began to turn into an almost daily event we realized it made complete sense for us to "quit our day-jobs." Note that we didn't start up over night, in fact, Modern American Sports Cars has been an independent company offering great prices on performance products via the internet for over a year now.
Our heads/cam packages mentioned within this post are not new to the market, just new for us to install. I'd like to refer you to two other companies offering the same package as us either installed our uninstalled and the success of those packages, but why don't you come by the shop and we will show you what we can do for you and talk items over further?
There are quite a few cars in town modified by Carter and myself, however they all belong to "car buddies." Keep an eye out at the track though for the fast muscle and sports cars wearing our purple and orange logo. We love friendly competition between local shops. If it is handled right, everybody ends up winning.

Thanks to you guys also. With the right attitude and service you can do well. Some shops get very full of themselves thinking they are the only thing on the block and eventually implode. I understand the "less expensive" reasoning for using someone else to tune and someone elses dyno, but eventually it is better to things under your control from what I have seen around the country. It also makes sense that most shops do charge more when they do this in house as $8-12K for a complete car LS1 edit and $35-42K for a complete 248 Dynojet/lift/computer setup is a lot of overhead plus the garage insurance. I learned this from asking as I too did not understand the costs behind a complete one stop shop at first.
I do not have an SS anymore, but it was a healthy NBM car, and not sure if it was the one you are talking of. Quite a while ago. Funny you should mention the GTO as I have an yellow M6 ordered. My "biased" shop and I are in the process different mods planning starting with just basic intake and exhaust and tuning. After that we will do LS6 heads/cam and all the bolt-ons and they have a Darton 427 ready after that sitting at his shop if it is still available at that time. They are also getting a twin turbo setup from down under to try. I figured since I am gone most of the time they can use mine as a guinea pig. Have you guys tuned any already? They have tuned 2 so far and another coming shortly. Not the nicest car visually, but at least a V8 rear wheel drive. Good luck.

Forgot to mention that I am off to Seattle this weekend for a couple weeks. Typical last minute things for me. I will try to get the info when I get back or get me the contact info here. Better yet, post up the dyno sheets here if you have them and I will check back as I can. Thanks and I missed the GTO tuning reference in the previous post from LT1 Brutus.
