Re: need a test car

at least 2199.00 to 2499.99 depends on where you order them from.

Re: need a test car

My car doesn't qualify, but are these the 205cc or 225cc heads? I hadn't read about the 225cc heads being released yet. I've read the AFR 205cc bare castings cost ~$1400, plus the add'l $$$ for the valvetrain hardware.

The group pricing on the bare assembled 205's seems to be around $2200. Most shops quote ~10 hours to R&R heads - so that's $600-900 depending upon vendor. So that'd be about $3000 there, plus a writeup on your car in a magazine. I'm curious if the dyno includes any tuning. Seems moot for me to call Roger or Joe when it doesn't apply to me, though

Now, if it is the 225's, then it's a deal

Re: need a test car

I had talked to Next Level Performance about doing just this and I was quoted in the $3000 area for the heads, install and tuning for the base 205 castings. Seems like a normal price. They also have an in house dyno and in house tuning and I understand Vinci does not have either at this time. Was wondering how they plan on doing the testing.

because they have an inground dyno and can do tuning right there also. dyno is getting ready to be put in the ground in the next 2 weeks.

Re: need a test car

new AFR 205cc (with valves, springs, locks, retainers)
new head bolts
new head gaskets and whatever other gaskets and miscellaneous parts are needed
dyno tuned (yes tuned)
get put in pontiac enthusiasts magazine which requires it to be a pontiac car by the way.

$3000.00 including tax. yes most forget that one in the price. which is about $200.00 there. so $2800.00 + tax (7%) = $3000.00
