As for anyone who thinks 15% isn't a good dicount from SLP, guess what retailers who carry SLP get unless they buy 10 or more of the same product at a time....yep, 15%; and most retail shops can't afford to carry 10 sets of $1K headers at a time. Hell, even if I buy 10 air lids with a 21% discount (think that's what they are for 10 or more) I'm still paying over $700 for items that might take 2 or 3 months to clear out.
Frankly, I was a little upset that for my business to get 15% I had to shell out a business license, advertisement, tax I.D.#, website, phone number, and more...and all you had to do was show up to a "customer appreciation event" not even necessarily being a customer. So basically you're saying to SLP, "Hey, thanks for the free lunch, bTW it sucked!"
All I've seen so far on these boards is negativity. I'm sure there were a few things that could be improved on and I'm sure next year, if there is one, SLP will do even better!

the reason why i complained about the 15% discount was b/c slp said, "Whether you're looking for OEM wheels, a high-flow cat-back exhaust, or even a 550-horse LS1 stroker package, SLP has got you covered. And don't forget: All of our prices will be heavily discounted for Race Day!" when i think of heavily discounted, i think of more than 15%. that was my initial complaint, but the more i thought about it they gave us so much for free. with a goodie bag, give away drawings, free admission, free drag racing, ect., i really appreciate what they did for us and i hope they come back next year. for anyone who didn't have fun at this event, they must be very hard to please and i feel sorry for them.

See that sounds like someone who can’t stand their ground, first I was not happy then when I saw everyone saying I should be happy I did what they wanted me to… Then I feel sorry for anyone who is hard to please, well I feel sorry for people who can’t accept others opinions and live out of the box… Whooo a t-shirt and all the crap.. I must work with to many vendors who really take care of their customers. And no matter what 15% is not heavily discounted. When vendor tells me heavily discounted we are talking a minimum of 35 percent to as much as 50 percent. Like I said I must just deal with vendors who take care of their people.

I had fun, no complaints here... Except for the fact that my car was running like complete crap! Best run was a 13.9 and best mph was like 98... My car usually runs 13.5 - 13.6 and traps 101 - 102... With the converter and injectors it should be running 13.0 - 13.2 trapping 102 - 103. But oh well...

Hey guys, I had a great time at the slp day. Too bad i couldnt stay longer. I got really hot and was tired yadaa yadda.

but its more than running your car for free, getting a 15% discount or using a port o potty.

Its hanging out with friends and having a good time...discount or not. maybe its just me..i havent seen alot of old friends in a while and was happy to see everyone...that i havent seen in a while. i wanna let yall know i havent forgotten ya!!

anyhew...anything you get for free...is cheaper than buying it.

sorry not everyone had a good time...
peace

That's what I'm saying. I didn't watch a lot of the racing or talk to any sales people. I only really watched the elimination rounds and the burnout contest. The rest of the time I was just hanging out with my friends and having a good time.

BTW, nice meeting you and I hope those seats work out for you.

well actually former88camaro i am standing my ground and sticking to what i said. if you go back and read my second post you see,
wasn't too impressed w/ the discount either. i was hopeing to pick up a set of the bilstein shocks/struts if the price was good. since i paid nothing to get in and only had to drive 15 min, i can't complain about anything.
i'm not changing my mind about anything. i was disappointed about the discount b/c i was expecting more of one, but overall i loved the event. this is actually getting out of hand and i don't really want to fight about it, especially over the internet. i just think you went to this expecting to have a bad time and b/c of that you did. i was looking forward to this event for months now so i had a great time. no complaints here about the discount, just "not impressed".

Well whoever did not like the event, SLP did not pay you to go, nor did they charge anything for a event at a track, so there should not be any complaining. they paid for a day for you to race at your own will, bracket race for fun, gave away 3 sets of wheels and tires, along with crud loads of gtechs, and other prizes. i didn't win anything, oh well that is how it goes. but if you didnt have fun you dont have to go back to anything they did. it was for enthusiasts who want to get out and make something of the weekend and show off their ride, that is what it was all about. and now about the SLP car, just imagine the car running on a cool night and at a good track, it would definintely be 9's material, pretty respectable for a LS1 style motor and not a HUGE displacement motor you see in many other cars even though it was above 400 cid. I had an alright time, not the best but definintely i've been to Way worse shows.

I actually hated SLP but after the day I got a new found appreciating, I didn't think much of the discount cuz SLp really does not have anything I want... maybe take off rims and tires... they jsut do not make crap for the 3.4L and the one time I dealt with them... I got my prthane bushings and endlinks in a week, and 2.5 weeks after that i got my sway bars.

I had a good time too. When I pulled up, I was amazed at the turnout...plenty of f-bodies to see. I just wanted to go to see all f-bodies aound the area in one place. As a bonus, I got to see some serious Corvettes and Grand Prixs run too. Pretty good since there are no more major f-body meets in the area anymore.

I knew about the helmet thing (it was on their website) so I couldn't run, but getting in to OSW and getting 4-5 runs of just time trials great considering normally you only get 3 runs total on a T&T night.

I did see one guy who was pissed in his third gen w/ all the different color body panels and huge slicks because he was running high 13s...but I don't think it was the event that made him angry.
