Body shop recommendations are welcome. I don't want a rushed job. I want it to be rebuilt, not repaired. New door, quarter panel and rocker panel, make sure all the seams look original and replace the door jam stickers. At least it doesn't look like any of the convertible top mechanisms got bent even though they were down in the cavity where the tire first hit.

Some of the guys on the cffb forum recommend Courtesy Collision but you have to ask for a specific person to do the work.

You may also want to consult the body shop about replacing the quarter panel. Unless its heavily damaged you may want to just have it pulled out. My understanding is that its an intergral part of the unibody and its far more trouble than its worth to replace it from an appearance point of view. I've heard that no matter how good the body guy is the seams will no longer look "factory" if its cut out and replaced.
Good Luck! Let me know if you need any ideas for some "renegade justice"

Actually, though I jokingly hinted at some knee-crakin', ACL rippin, permanent limp inflicting fun, I know a family of Orange County Sheriffs. I was really suggesting that a little private investigation to see if the two know each other, and a look at the guy's past driving record, topped by a friendly call from an officer "investigating" fraudulent witness charges might cause the witness or the driver to to get a little (Dr. Evil's ' I just made a geeky play on words voice') "weak...in the knees." (pinky finger to pouty lower lip)Muah-ha-ha-ha..Muah-hahaha...Huah ha........yeah, yeah way too much time on my hands.

Thanks again guys. Check this out. I've been told of a website www.whowhere.lycos.com. Supposedly a guy at work had a girlfriend for about 2 months and her ex was stalking her. He went to this website and was able to find out tons of info on the guy. All aquaintences, business partners, neighbors and tons more. The guys girlfriend showed up as a contact. Even his own name came up because he affilliated with the girlfriend. Talk about thourough! I'm gonna try this on the witness and see if the trucking company shows up. If so... Oh Boy Let The Fun Begin!!!!!
Jeff94TA - I got the email. Thanks a heap.
Jeff(TEKE) - Yesterday was abgorgeous day. that's why I was driving it. I was in such a good mood that morning too.
Eric - Dang it! PM me next time. Now your obviously unbiased account of the events in question has been irrepairably tarnished by your public anouncement of your involvement. lol
Jason - I'm pretty sure it's beyond pulling. It's even mangled inside the door jam. I doubt it could be massaged back into place.
I have about 50 pics and a couple videos I hope to have posted soon. The film is still being developed. Check out my new sig.

Sorry to hear about your luck. It's a total bitch when you take pride in something and some idiot destroys it in the blink of an eye.
I have a name and # of a good body shop in Longwood - D&G Enterprises 240 Palmetto Ave. Suite 120, (407) 260-6434. Dawn & Gary are good people and turn out excellent work. Gary used to run the body shop at Ultimate Motor Works before starting his own shop.
I wish you the best of luck in getting swift justice and your car fixed right.

Cool! I was gonna talk to Ultimate and try to get it in there or Daya's. But that sounds even better. I'd rather go with a smaller shop that will be willing to spend the proper amount of time to get things done right. They also, hopefully, will be more willing to put up with me being a picky, demanding, royal pain in the **** while they have my car.

Ask for a tour of the whole shop, he has a butt load of classics he is working on right now. One of them is a 67' Chevelle vert that they swapped an LS1 in. One of the last times I paid them a visit - there was an 01' Firehawk in there getting fixed. It was banged up pretty bad, I thought it was a parts car at first glance. But, they were able to fix it. He used to do a lot of Vette restos... so I don't think he will think you to be much of a pain in his *** at all.

You need a witness yourself. Hell if he can do it why not you. I had a guy slam into the back of me on I4 once and he got the ticket. He took it to court and got one of his biker bar drinking buddies to say I had cut him off and deliberately slammed on my brakes. No I may have been guilty of this once or twice, but not with this guy. He was riding my *** in an old Nissan pickup and when traffic came to a stop he could not stop in time. Not only did he get off scott free, the judge made my insurance pay for his damages. HE REAR ENDED ME FOR ****S SAKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! His drinking buddy, I mean witness said he went up to the next exit and by the time he doubled back the accident was cleared. BULL****!! the next exit was only about a mile away and we sat there for 3 hours waiting on cops and reports and such. HE COULD HAVE DROVE TO TAMPA AND BEEN BACK IN TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!
So all you need is a witness. Just say he thought it was obvious who's fault it was and that is why he did not stop. You ran into him at the 7-11 after the cops left and he started asking about it and so on and so on.
Anyway, good luck. Hope it all works out. Make sure you have your story, or truth straight though. Judges sense fear!

I figure I'm gonna have to go to court twice right? Once to beat the ticket and once to sue the trucking company.
Do the witness and other driver have to show up to my traffic court date or just the one where I sue them?
I can't get another person to lie for me. With my luck that would backfire and I'd get caught. I'll just have to do my homework.
