Time to build the garage

Time to build the garage
It's almost time. I've pretty much finished the plans for my backyard garage. I've got the funding. All I need to do now is clear the trees out and build a fence around the yard. It's gonna be 32' X 32' with 12' ceiling and a lift. I'm building it myself so here's the deal. If anybody would like to lend a hand, I'll return the favor with access to the lift.
I'd also be appreciative if anybody can hook me up with a deal on clearing the spot, pouring the slab, getting the trusses made, having the survey done, getting the officials plans drawn up or any other deals on construction materials.
I'm not looking to schedule anybody yet. I just want to know if anybody is interested in helping out. I live in Winter Springs BTW.

I am in! Jackstands, apartment complex parking lots, and UCF parking garages are starting to get old.
Especially if I have to do a tranny swap on my car.

This is very close to what I'm studying in school. I'm doing civil engineering w/construction. Do you want to give me some practice in my future career? I don't have any hook-ups in the construction industry yet, but I have done some surveying. I'd be glad to help in any way I can.

Wow! Thanks for the interest guys. I'm probably about a month away from starting. By "starting" I mean clearing trees. I have a couple other projects to do first. I'm starting my fence this weekend. After that I'll chop a bunch of small trees and pile them in a corner or something. I still have to finish painting the front of my house too. Grout the tile in the bathroom, install trim, maybe do some painting inside too. Oh yeah, clean the garage so I can find all the tools I'm gonna need. Ah heck! I'm just gonna move and be done with it! j/k
Maybe a month and a half would be more realistic. Maybe two. I'm not the most self motivated person on Earth.
But I keep catching my neighbor's grey cat on my black convertible top. The day that it finally decides to dig it's claws in, I'm gonna freek. I gotta get this thing in the garage.
Thanks again. I'll keep you posted.

Oh yeah. As far as manual labor is concerned, that's perfect. I'm gonna have the slab poured and you have to have the trusses special ordered. Everything else is pretty much common sense stuff. I think I'll need the most help lifting the walls in place. Same for the trusses. Roofing is a pain. Might need a little help there too but if not, no biggie.
If somebody is good with wood they can help with the framing of the walls. But the studs are pretty much just laid in place one at a time and nailed together. Nothing I can't do myself. It's just very time consuming.
That's what I have in mind. But I won't turn away ANY help. From the fence to the trees or painting, or electrical, whatever.

Yeah, that would be cool. I took drafting and architecture in high school. I did the whole 3 year 5 credit thing. So I already have most of the drawings done for my benefit. They're just not the correct size and format to submit them to the city planners. The survey aint cheap. And most likely you don't have the equipment laying in your closet. But if there is any connection there, that wout be great too.

Cool to help you feel a little better, I am no expert, but I have installed some swapped some electrical sockets, installed some lighting fixtures, built my own bed form wood(5 feet in the air, with a built in loft underneath) Probable woun't be any use to you, but I have also swapped, sprinkler pump, coupel pool pumps, water heater, water softner.
Need any latters? Think you might need any latters? I may have acces to 3 latters tht can go nearly 60 feet in the air standing by itself. We got a $7k hydralic lift at work so we really do not use the latters anymore, and for some reason my theater is the junkyard theater, every other theaters spare parts gets sent to my theater so we have more then one of the latters.

Well as long as I'm still here I'll help you out. I'm planning on moving to Mass in about 2 months, so if you get motivated enough you may be able to use me. I don't have any special skills or tools to help you out with, but I'm good for the manuel labor Keep us updated. BTW, if you need help with the fence let me know, I've done that before.

Concrete slab info. I just put an 8'x20'x4" thick slab in my back yard. The cost for the concrete was $193 bux. I can get this guy's number for you if you need it.
I don't know jack about building stuff but willing to help when you're ready.

Thanks again. And I do appreciate the help (including pointers, advice, hookups, manual labor, whatever). This is definately the biggest stunt I've ever pulled by far.
