Chuck, the pictures are all right here:

You couldn't detect the cam with the open cutout, eh? Time to upgrade I guess OK So I can just take them out of my sig and do a Jedi mind trick. *waves hand* You did not see my signature. *waves hand* Jim doesn't have heads&cam.
My best was 65.7, and Palmblad turned a 64.5 while driving. He said later that he might have been able to get another tenth or two out of it. I guess I should have you (Chuck) drive it too - you're probably more familiar with driving the F-body than Bob.

Sounded like a blast I really did like that course, and I would have loved a longer start like you mentioned, I slammed 2nd a little too hard on that sweeping corner on the first turn and managed to end up in the grass in under 20 seconds of racing
I liked hte little box
As for these events turning out better then normal...
Maybe cutout the free shirts... and have 3 a year wink wink, I would have definitely been there for that one, but I mean my girl paid nearly $115 for the tickets we had, and was sort of a once in a lifetime experience, was awesome though.
You guys were lucky I wasn't out there, if I was going I was going to throgh on a set of bigger, better rubber, 10Xs better tread tires on the fornt and keep my better of the all 4 my bald tires in the rear, which are 10mm smaller, I may have well been doing 360s the whole track

Does Martin Sports car club ever goto any of the bigger tracks like homestead or sebring? I was just curious because this event was my first and I would like to do one thats a little longer and get some more back to back laps. Congrats to Jim for winning Novice, he inched me out by less than a second.

Mike,
I must've missed your name on the sheet but I do remember your car. I think I last checked the standings at the end of the 3rd run, and it appeared the quickest novices were in the 69's. Do you recall what your other runs were? I think I started with a 69, had an 81 on the second run (o/c twice), then had a 65.8 & 65.7. Let me know if you're going again, because that split second difference makes me nervous
SFA other tracks, I think Homestead, Sebring, Roebling Road, Road Atlanta, etc would more be considered road racing - which I wouldn't mind trying as well. I don't think MSCC does road racing. There's a local Porsche club & Chin Motorsports which do, however.
Eric: 3 a year? how about 12 a year?!?

Yea my 3rd run was a 67.8 and the last run was a 66.5. Every one of my runs got faster, so I'm really curious how low it could have gotten. I am going to put a few mods in suspension and some new pads to see if I can't shave off a few more seconds. The front mount intercooler that going on won't hurt a bit either. I guess I will have to wait for the next Chin Motorsports event at sebring because next months is full for novices. I think a course like that would be much better suited for my car with 140mph+ straights and 80mph corners. I can't wait.

I think that the West chapter of the SCCA goes to Gainesville pretty regularly. MSCC only does autocross. We used to have a larger facility to use until 9/11/01 and every October we had a high speed event called the "Mini-Prix". Last October we had it at Gainesville for the first time. Due to the great event we had, we decided to go in April and October in 2003. We had free TShirts last year but literally (pardon the pun) lost our shirts on them. We barely broke even. So we killed the shirts this year.
I'm sure that Jeff94TA or Soma07 can give you some links to other clubs. I just did my taxes and now I'm brain dead. Sorry.

Chin Motorsports is your best bet for Sebring no doubt. I did Roebling Road, outside Savannah, back in January with the Crown Region Porsche Club. Here is their website
I like the Porsche Club events because they run groups based on your skill level. In other words your out on the track with only drivers of similar skill levels and your not getting run over by faster drivers and cars. Over the two days in January I drove seven twenty minute sessions or in other words over two hours of track time. The time between the sessions gives you a chance to discuss your run with your instructor and think about your strategy for the next run.
The Chin events run for one day and I believe have two novice only sessions but the balance of the time is open to all classes. You actually get more track time with this method than the Porsche Club events.
Here are some pics from Roebling Road.
