Re: Delteq GP

Any issues with putting the Delteq on a 93 that don't come up on the later years?

Hi, The only difference with the 93's is that you need to remove the tach filter. Which is highlighted in the manual.

Jim, I read about teh Delteq system in the November issue of GM High-Tech Performance and it sounds very good, expensive, though good. My 1995 LT1 is stock and I am waiting to replace the plugs and wires with the stock Opti and I know eventually the stock Opti will fail. What do I need to convert to the Delteq system. The radiator mounted coils and wires are invisible but doesn't that maintain the same difficult to get to problem? Does the valvecover mounted coils andwires work wit stock exhaust manifolds? I plan on getting headers but I can only afford so many things at a time. Is there a space issue with the valvecover mounted coils and wires? I like the idea of installing the Delteq system and not having to be concerned with ignition again. You can pm me if you like. Thanks.

Re: Delteq GP

Hey Jim,

I've been looking heavily at the Delteq system as well as the LTCC that Bob makes. I already have a set of LS1 coils, but I'm open to either system still. Anyhow, I saw this on your website.

The use of aftermarket Capacitive Discharge ignitions with the Delteq Opti-Direct system is also a possibility, since there is no longer the chance of arc-over in the distributor cap. High-load engines will benefit from this fact as well.
So which ignition boxes will interface with the Delteq? I already have a MSD 6BTM box to retard the timing for my blower. Also, how do the 4 coils of this system compare with the 8 coils used in the LTCC setup? Also, are there any built in features like a 2 step or boost retard?
