Re: Delteq GP

If this was asked before, I must have missed it....

The "Bare Bones" kit for an F-body comes with all bracketry, hardware, harnass(es), "Opti-Box", instructions, EVERYTHING that is in the regular F-Body valve cover mount kit........except the Northstar coil packs and plug wires?

So the ONLY things I would have to buy later are the Cadillac Northstar coil packs and my own plug wires, correct?

Thanks!

Hi,

What is needed to use the Delteq Bare Bones Opti Direct System?
The Bare Bones kit includes everything from the complete kit except for the spark plug wires and the coilpack. The coilpack consists of four coils and one ignition module. The relevant part numbers and OEM applications for the coilpack are outlined below:
1 ACDelco #D1980A Ignition Control Module (no known equivalent available)
Used on 1993-1999 Cadillacs with Northstar engine (VIN = 9 or Y)
and 1995-1999 Olds Aurora (VIN = C)
4 ACDelco #D555 Ignition Coils or equivalent
Used on over 1000 GM vehicles from 1984 to the present

Hey Sandman:
I was consittering the basic kit like you are, mainly because I already had a few coils laying around. I checked with AutoZone on the ignition Module, It's well over $200! So unless you've got the parts laying around, the complete kit is the way to go.

yes once you compare my price for the whole unit you can see it is very good ... Also the coils and Module I include is better quailty then stuff autozone pushes

Yes I understand we are all not made of money ... that’s why I try to keep the price of this kit as low as possible. while not trying to out of business.
