1.8" drop on 1994 Z28

Hey guys, this is my first post so bare with me... I'm planninng on lowering my 94 camaro z28 with eibach sportline 1.8" lowering springs I bought them for $225. I havent installed them yet but I also bought an adjustable PanHard Bar/Rod for about $80 and LCA relocation brackets for $50. Is there anything eles that I need to do this and have everything work smoothly with this? After I get done I'm going to have a wheel alignment done and bush timing done at the new ride height, the thing I'm most worried about is the negative camber on the front tires, will they be able to set it properly when I get the alignment done or will I need a camber kit? I don't see why or how but I've heard the rear wheels may have some negative camber swell. Thanks for staying with me this long and all suspension parts are stock. Any input would be great thanks guys!

EDIT: I'm using, what looks like stock shocks and struts will those work ok for the drop? I heard the may need replacing soon with lowering the car because the ride height is hard on them

I'm not sure what a lanyard rod is but you may want to get an adj. panhard bar to center the rearend and a adj. torque arm to get your pinon angle back. I didn't get any camber change in the rear and the front you might need to get adj. A-arms,I didn't but I only droped mine 1.4".
Hope this helps.

Yea I ment pan hard rod but my iPod auto corrected it, sorry about that I didn't think a torque arm would be to critical since it would only change the torque arm by 1 or 2 degrees at the front bushings I just don't want to spend a few hundered to get the front camber straightened out, but I will if I have to defiantly cheaper than tires

If your really worried about the camber then adj. upper A-arms would do the trick. On mine with a 1.4" drop they hit the limit on adjustment to get it right.
And the torque arm is just to keep your rearend happy,it will make it possible to keep the -1 or-2 deg. that it likes. I think that's the numbers that it likes, not 100% sure on that.

Re: 1.8" drop on 1994 Z28

I had the front end of mine down 1.8" with a combination of Eibach Pro-Kit springs and the QA1 adjustable height coil-overs. The shop I took it to for an alignment (one of the only ones that would even touch a "modified" car) had no problem setting the alignment to:

Caster: +4-deg

Camber: -1-deg

Toe: 0.1

Absolutely perfect, no uneven tire wear, good grip in the corners, etc.

I suspect using the stock shocks with those springs will probably be a disaster. Since there is an appreciable cost (or your own labor content) to disassembling/reassembling the front coil-over spring/shock assemblies (no "struts" on a 4th Gen) you need to get the correct shocks now, capable of damping the Sportlines.

so Injuneer, your saying that the camber will change so little that they can fix it with a simple wheel alignment without any extras, such as adjustable upper a arms or a camber plate?

Re: 1.8" drop on 1994 Z28

Hey Fred, is that toe in or out?
I got my frontend apart putting in polys and ball joints,so I need to do a alignment and want some idea of a good setup. I'm doing some autocross, but mostly street. 98 z28 lowered 1.4,agx shocks,3 point sfc and the hole rearend is after market,18/265 front and 18/295 rear bfg kdws. The car is really solid right now,but I don't know to much on
alignments. Thanks for any help.

I'm saying that I got a recommended alignment from someone who Auto-X's his car, had a shop set that alignment, and they were able to do it with the factory provisions for alignment adjustment. You can't put a camber plate on a 4th Gen, at least I've never seen it done, and don't know how you would do it. That's why the tubular control arms with adjustable spherical rod ends were mentioned. If for some reason you can't get it where you want it, with the factory adjustment limits, you would have to have adjustable A-arms.

+1 for adj torque arm. I dropped my car and my pinion made a hell of a noise until i adj the arm. bought a cheap magnetic angle finder from harbor freight and found a post on here a while ago that gave me the degree. Good luck!
