1995 FBody Rear brakes???
I've changed them before, and I can't seem to put my finger down on the problem.
Car is a 1995 LT1 Firebird Formula with disk rear brakes, the E brake is built into the rear caliper.
Removed the whole assembly by removing the two bolts that hold the bracket to the rear end. (not the piston to the bracket) And tapped off the unit. Removed the old pads, removed rotor. Replaced pads and rotor, but now the caliper wont slide over the rotor (pads installed) I FORCED it on... something i rarely do and got them locked on. I now have a car that doesn't move... at all.
I called for 94 95 and 96 PN's on ROTORs and they store said they were all the same.
anyone have a write up or suggestions? these things are making me crazy.

Re: 1995 FBody Rear brakes???
Assuming the pads are right, the piston must not be all the way back in. I did a Kia the other day where it took a c-clamp and a brass hammer to get them to go in. I was amazed that they actually worked ok when I was done.
If nothing else, you could buy a rebuilt caliper. They aren't very expensive.

I just did mine yesterday and had the same problem. If you had adjusted you e brake at all with the old pads on there than that is your problem make you that you relieve all the pressure by the e brake. If you dont know how the is a L shaped lever you just pull the e brake handle up as far as you can then get a screwdriver or whatever and pull the handle up just so there is no pressure on the L shaped lever and push it down while riding the handle downwards. Thats what I had to do it took me like a hour to figure out why it wouldnt go on there. Hope this helps.
