1LE/SLP sway bars

I am wanting better sway bars, how do the 1LE bars on the SS's compare to the lesser bars the rest of the cars got? They can be had very cheap, just wanna make sure it's going to be worth the work.

I can only speak for the 1LE components which I have on my car but I like them. Handling overall is much better, more stable. The only negative I can think of is now it seems to oversteer a little-shich doesn't bother me-but you can more easily lose the rear in a turn if you aren't watching it.

I noticed the same handling traits. I replaced the rear rubber spring isolators with heater hose which lowered the rear slightly and changed the weight/handling balance to slight understeer.

I did that mod as well to get the back a little closer to the level of the front. Don't know if it made a handling difference for me or not, may have.

"I did that mod as well ... "Heater hose" mod. on rear springs."
Ooooops ... I forgot to read your mods! Sorry.
Tires were important for me. I like the D3s. Had Dunlop SP8000s before ... not very good until they were nearly tread-free.

Is the 1LE bar the same 35MM one that was on the WS6 package in the Firebirds, with a 22MM rear bar instead of the regular 19 MM bar? I swapped the front on my z to the WS6 bar, because I could see it was larger diameter, and swapped rears though they looked identical- (swapped rear springs, too- didn't have time or inclination to swap front springs)

My car wants to under steer, push-- hard to get it to rotate around the cones- when I nail the throttle, the front end lifts and plows- I am thinking I need a bigger rear bar

Wild *****:
Depends on the year ... 1995 1LE is a 32mm front bar with 360 lbs per inch springs and 19mm rear bar with dual rate rear springs that are 130 - 180 lbs per inch.
Stock 95 was 30mm (292 # springs) front and rear 19mm (114 # springs). I think some 94s got a 21mm rear roll bar but I believe they went to 19mm when they started using the dual rear rate springs.
That's for the LT-1 cars ... don't know about LS-1s
