Question 1LE springs and shocks.... Good enough?

Just bought a set of 1LE springs and shocks, all brand new NOS gm parts... Got a damn good deal too...

They are the decarbons but the 1le specific ones if they exist..

Are these good over stock relacements ??

I just installed them on mine. It rides a little rough over small bumps but it corners great. Also there is no bottoming it out. I really see an improvement over stock. Did you get the 32mm front swaybar too?

I already had the 32mm front sway and I have a 24mm rear, I also have subframe connectors, STB, Panhard rod, and rear LCA's,..

I take it you won them off ebay??

Did they lower your car ?

How was the front install? What else did you need to make it 100%? Did you do it all yourself ?

I went right to his website..+

They will be here tommorow !!! Cant Wait !!! My stock stuff is done at 93k....

AWESOME PRICE!!!

Yeh I got them off ebay. They actually raised the car a tiny bit in the front because theres an extra coil on the front springs - I think they will still settle down a little yet. I installed them myself. It wasn't to difficult besides compressing the springs. I didnt need to buy anything for the install. One problem I ran into is the bolts on the top of the front shocks were rusted on. I ended up grinding them off to remove the shock. No biggy cause I didnt plan on saving them anyway. Theres a good step-by-step somewhere that I found. Cant remember the exact site. LS1tech.com or something. Good luck.

IMHO the deCarbons are crap. I've had stock ones and the "supposedly" high performance ones. Neither one was sufficient in controling the spring motion.

I would use either the Bilstein HD's, Koni SA's or Strano revalved HD's. It all depends on the springs.

If I had the cash, I would have went with Bilstein HD's, But I dont have alot of cash to keep throwing at my car.

My car is a daily driver for the most part so I'm sure these will be MUCH better over my current decarbons and springs with 93k hard miles on them...

Good enough !

Thats how it is with me. Daily driver with a limited income at 18 years old leaves me with the best I can afford. I guess I see a difference because my stockers appeared to have never been changed in the 130k miles my cars been around. Thats what I think judging by the way they were rusted on.

I just ordered that 1LE set off EBAY too (springs, larger valved DeCarbons and front sway bar). $149.99 + 42.00 shipping. It may not be quite as nice as the Bilstien set up, but for that price.... It will be good enough for me. Maybe I'll pick up that panhard bar from SLP w/ the harder bushings for $29.95. Talk about a cheap b@stard suspension set up. Still need to order a rear sway bar from Cromer... maybe some SFCs too.

I didnt get them off ebay, I went to him direct off his web site,

I got just the shocks/springs for $133 to my door !! ALready had the sway bar..

I'm so happy, I was only a state away from him, saved me $$$ on shipping !!

IMO: This is an AWESOME KIT FOR THE PRICE !!!!
