4th gen axle codes?

I have a complete 4th gen disc brake rear that I aquired several years ago. I know it is posi, but I cannot find any info on the axle code 4PF stamped into the normal spot on the housing. Does anyone know what this code means?

I don't think its coded to the gears. Take the cover off and count the teeth on the R&P. Or turn the axles one full revolution and see how many times the pinion turns.

The photo links aren't going to work, because I've changed servers.

Re: 4th gen axle codes?

It is going to be tough to do either one as the rear is currently in storage. I was hoping to figure it out by the code as I have done several times on 3rdgen cars.
