81 steering box?

81 steering box?
Does anyone know what steering box is in a standard 81 camaro (229 V6). I'm looking at replacing it with an AGR unit and they have a note about a 605 type box needing a different pitman arm and input coupler. How do I tell if I have a 605 box?
(I read something about snap rings vs 4 bolts. As far as I know all steering boxes have 4 bolts...)
Thanks

Re: 81 steering box?
i know from experience that the 6 cyliner and 8 cylinder stuff were different, try to explain to the counter guy for the 5th time the tie rods were wrong again because i was sure the v-8 was factory. google subrames hot rod retro. most of the old school truck swaps were camaro subframes. most parts were cheap

Do a search over at www.nastyz28.com. It is a 2nd gen Camaro site. A lot of those guys upgrade to the 3rd gen steering box. It has a much better ratio and you can actually feel the steering. It bolts on, but requires changing the pitman arm, rag joint and having power steering hoses built.
