Re: 82-92 LS1 brake conversion? HELP!!

I've found information on a '82-'92 C5 brake conversion, but not LS1. I prefer the LS1 conversion, because its less expensive.

Re: 82-92 LS1 brake conversion? HELP!!

thanx guys I'm gonna check these out. By the way I spent this evening at work milling down an old rotor to use as a hub for the '00 rotor and replaced the studs with 2 inchers. This is the idea I got off of cheapbigbrades.com, but it was for the 13" C5. I also heard you can use the LS1 caliper on the C5 13" rotor, but I'm still looking into that. This conversion will be a beautifull thang!

Re: 82-92 LS1 brake conversion? HELP!!

Thats exactly what mine is doing. Leaning against a wall at work. Lol. I Decided to go with the C5 conversion. Sense the expensive part I was worrying about was the calipers, now I can just use the LS1 caliper With the C5 carrier. I should be able to fit these, I've got the 17' IROC replicas. So..... The hubs and studs are done, I ordered the C5 caliper mounting bracket (from bigbrakeupgrade.com $130.00 with shipping) ordered the 13" C5 rotors ($21.99 at prpboys), Ordered the C5 bendix pads at Advance ($26.88 shop cost). Now I'm gonna go to "pick-n-pull" and get extra spindles to modify and pick up some calipers ($30.00 each at Lalo's salvage). Then probably to the dealer for the caliper carrier and hardwear. Looking good. I can see it already. LOL. Thanx agian. Mark

Re: 82-92 LS1 brake conversion? HELP!!

At first I found them in summit for polished $700 and chrome for $900. I had gone down to discount tire about three times asking them for these rims but they couldnt find them. So I brought them the brand name (Dante designs) and they finally found them. I told them I wanted the polished and to match summits price, they made a mistake and said they couldnt get the polished but they would get me the chrome for the polished price. So I got these 17" chrome IROC replicas from discount tire for $700 plus tax. Good deal!! By the way, could you to tell me how you like your big brake upgrade and the diff you noticed. Thanx, Mark.
