87 Iroc-Z Suspension question
Heys guys,
im new on this board. I owned my Iroc for like a year now and learning it little by little. It has the Chevy SB 350 in it and i know that pretty well. But im trying to learn the suspension. I was looking and it looks as if there is just shock absorbers in teh front, with no springs. You guys know if this is stock like or someone did that? Can i put springs on for a smoother ride? i notice its very bumpy and rough. Or do i have to change the absorbers too? anyone suggest some stuff to me, I'm trying to learn my car inside out.

Re: 87 Iroc-Z Suspension question
i have an 87 iroc too
u do have springs, if u didnt the car would ride on the ground and hurt
in the front it is a modified macpherson strut suspension, which means you have a strut and the spring does not wrap around it, if u take a closer look you will see the spring there
the rear suspension is the same from 1982 til 2002, it is a torque arm set up that has lower control arms, a torque arm in the center and a panhard rod for sidetoside movement

Re: 87 Iroc-Z Suspension question
The stock supension set up on any year IROC-Z was for handling and not really a comfort ride. If peopke wanted a soft ride they bought Mustangs.
For all the info on a IROC go to www.thirdgen.org and check the tech data out. Orignal owner of 87 IROC-Z and always liked the siffer ride.
