90/10, 70/30 ect. drag shocks question

I know a 90/10 front drag shock would be quick on rebound and compression. But which # refers to rebound and which to compression. All those #s add up to 100, so it must be 90% this and 10% that but which one is which? How is it scaled? The higher the percentage the softer or harder the compression? Also, the higher the percentage the quicker or slower the rebound?

Compression is the downward movement of the suspension, rebound is the lift. As far as the 90/10 ratio, that means a 90% compression, 10% rebound. The upward movement of the shock rod(rebound) is less to "throw" the front end up. The compression is real stiff to keep the front end up. Some people say a 90/10 is to much since it never lets the front end settle back down after a launch. The ratios are usually reversed on the rear(10/90, 30/70)
