Question 90/10 Shocks

A few weeks ago, my mech. was telling me about 90/10 shocks and how it'll transfer 90% of the car's weight to the rear and 10 to the front (I think).

Does anyone have these and how exactly do they work?

Re: 90/10 Shocks

These are drag racing only shocks. The provide very little dampeniong to raise the front of the car, but are heavily dampened on the down stroke allowing the weight transfer to stay up during the launch. They would be horrible for street driving.

Re: 90/10 Shocks

I think 90/10 means the ratio of resistance to upward and downward travel of the shock. They work like OBE1 said and are race only.

Re: 90/10 Shocks

If you were really serious about changing the shocks, I would look into 70/30's way before going to 90/10's.

Re: 90/10 Shocks

Try HAL/QA1 shocks. You can adjust them to 90/10 if you have the 'R-Series'. Adjust them stiff for street use.

Re: 90/10 Shocks

not too steal the thread at all . . . but what do ya'll consider, from knowledge or experiance the best dual purpose for drag/street?

I know that you have to go one way or another for best performance but for all of us who have the "weekend" Ls1 . . .
