90K miles on my original shocks/struts...time to replace?
I would think after 90K miles on my original shocks on my car I would have had the best miles out of them.
Any thoughts? Any national automotive chains like Firestone, Midas, Pep Boys carry any good ones? I'd like to do this sometime soon so I don't think I'll be ordering them online as I got a long road trip starting late next week.
The car is an 01 Camaro v6.

A chain will tell you that your going to need them even if you don't. I would ask around for a good local garage and have them check them out. You can also push down on the front and rear of the car and see how fast a rebound you have.

how fast of a rebound should you have?
my rebound on my rear is really slow.... pretty sure it's time to get new shocks at least
sorry not trying to hijack your thread.

I would say you want a fairly quick rebound, but a good firm feel. I guess you have to take in consideration a few variables, like road conditions you travel on frequently (potholes) weight (as far as passengers that ride frequently or don't ride in the car) consult with one of the moderators on here they know there stuff.

hard to judge how fast the rebound should be..easy test is to push down on and see how it reacts when it comes back up- if it comes back up and stops without any up and down motion your shocks should still be in decent shape.
And like what was said earlier- any chain will tell you that you need new shocks, prol even if they were less than a year old. Go to a decent 'local' shop- they are usually straight shooters when it comes to what your car needs, could need, or could do without for the time being.
