96 SS: Shocks, Springs, What else?

96 SS: Shocks, Springs, What else?
I've got a daily driver '96 SS that needs a new suspension (97k miles). By that, I thought it was as simple as shocks and springs. BUT, after further investigation of the search feature I've found myself thinking I need an adjustable panhard bar...?
My question is what else do I need to get my suspension where it needs to be on a (soon-to-be) lowered car? PS, I'm on a budget and don't race this thing...I just want it to ride nicely.
Thanks,
-John

Which shocks and springs?
You can get super good results with stock springs.
Most of all the springs on the markert today, ebiach, hotchkis, votgland,BMR,DMS are only "reccommend" with 2 shock chocies.
Revalved Bilsteins 530.00
Koni 4/3 725.20
Koni 4/4 828.80
These are the chocies if your going with higher springs.
Here would be a couple of setups I think would work nice for improved feel of the road.
Setup 1:
Bilsteins HD's (349.99)
Stock Springs
Setup 2:
Revalves 530.00
35mm Hollow Front Bar 199.99
Setup 3:
Revalves 530.00
Your choice of spring say around 200.00
Adju Panhard get rod to rod end
Be good and get you lowered with proper damping.
Setup 4:
Koni 4/3 725.
35mm 199
Do lower perch mod and hose mode for rear :lowering the car.5-.75 inches
Setup 5:
Koni 4/4 828
35mm and 22mm hollow
Stock springs
Setup 6
Koni 4/4 828
Springs 200
35mm and 22mm 400
Adju Panhard get rod to rod end
Setup 7:
HD's 350
It all depends on your budget and want you want. I would only reccomend getting springs if you can afford at least the revalves.
Hope this helps.

Eibach Pro Kit, but I was planning on going with a KYB AGX model for the shocks/struts...No? Revalved or better eh? It's only a daily driver...

Re: 96 SS: Shocks, Springs, What else?
Everything I have read and the times I have talked to Sam.
It seems the KYB AGX is not something you want..and don't damping properly for the ebiachs.
If your going to spend around 550 or whatever I would just get the Koni 4/3 and do the lower perch and hose mod to lower the car.
Unless there is other reasons you want to lower it.
Good luck with it.
I just got Koni 4/4 35mm and 22mm lowered .5 inch and STB and its really a nice setup.

Re: 96 SS: Shocks, Springs, What else?
The kyb are a cheap shock. They do not perform well at all. I am on koni SA, which i think is the 4/4. If I was buying shocks over again I would still be dropping the 800 on them. They are great, outstanding, just can't say enough good stuff about them. I would talk to sam strano, he is the same sam Coolformula mentioned. He knows it all and after a 10 min convesation you will have a much beter understanding of everything too. www.stranoparts.com or 1-814-849-3417 give him a call it is definately worth for while.
