97 Z28 has no rear sway bar

One of my friends recently purchased a 97 Z28 that has a 9" Ford rear end. It looks to be a professional install with a nice aftermarket torque arm and braces. Saw him turning around in a parking lot and the body rolled really bad. Checked it out and there is no rear sway bar! WHere can I find info on this to get the right sway bar and how to install it? Anyone on here have this set-up? Thanks

I'd throw a stocker on there for the time being. If you want to drop some coin on an aftermarket one you can pick up a Wolfe (pretty much a race only piece) or a more street friendly Spohn or BMR.

He don't mind running a stock one. HE drives the car regularly, it is not a drag car. The engine is basically stock. I guess the previous owner planned to make big HP later. Just trying to figure out how to mount it. A pic of a similar set-up would be great. Or a shop near Houston TX that is experienced in this set-up.

Re: 97 Z28 has no rear sway bar

The stock sway bar brackets were probably too small to fit around the axle tubes on the 9-inch, or the stock brackets put the bar too close to the center section and the bar hit the back of it. You just need to get a set of mounting brackets specifically made for the diameter of the axle tube (measure the diameter). Check Spohn Performance... he has mounting kits.
