ABS/ASR inop

Today my ABS/ASR inop lights came on. They did it once before but shut off the next time i started the car. This is on a 1996 Z-28. My question is since its both lights that are on that would mostly likely point to a sensor in the rear of the car, right? If i go up to autozone and get the free otbII scan will that show me which one or do i have to do something else. Any help would be gratly appreciated because my dash looks like a christmas tree right now.

Re: ABS/ASR inop

use to happen regularly on my old 96. could just be that the sensor is loose. i'd check it first.

not sure if there is actually a code to it or not.

maybe try clearing the computer.

You will need to go to the dealer or someone who has a Tech 1 or 2 scanner to get the ABS/ASR codes scanned. I would check the connections to the sensors and if that doesn't fix it get it scanned.
