Fair enough

But ABS keeps the wheels from locking and staying locked. It is actually there to allow you to maintain steering control which you lose when the brakes lock. When you lift you foot the ABS stops. If you don't have it and lock a wheel, you need to lift to make the wheel unlock too, there is no difference except the ABS cycles much faster than a person can pump the brakes.

Further you never want the rear brakes to lock at the same time as the fronts, always after. Locking rears causes the rear to slide, and with that much rear bias can make for a very loose car under trail braking.

I have won 5 SCCA National Championships, and 4 ProSolo series Championships. Of the 9, 8 were in ABS equipped cars, 1 wasn't. I can assure you that the ABS does not hinder me unless I do something stupid (and it know is stupid) and brings the ABS in at bad times.

are the abs units alot better for LS1 cars? just my personal preference for the LT1 style i just dont like it. in the end either way works, if you do choose to go manual it must be set up the right way regardless. sam is right you need proper braking bias.
