abs inop
My abs inop light came on the other week and when I apply the brakes sometimes the brake and abs light flashes and if I hold the e brake just a little so the brake light comes on the abs light flashes it randomly went away this week and stayed off until today. It came on again and is doing the same thing I'm thinking a faulty ground because of the electrical ghost I have been having but I was wondering if anyone has experienced this kinda thing any input would be very helpful

Had a similar problem in my 97 ss not identical but very close... my problem was the the tail light bulb sockets were all corruded and I wasent getting a good connection so check that and also your 3rd brake light bulbs cause if there blown it will cause an abs inop light let me know how it goes

Did you look at the third brake light when you say the connectors and sockets are all OK and corrosion free? That one seems to affect the cruise controla nd maybe the ABS...

i changed the relay and the cruise control still works but they like flicker on and off and then the brake light comes on and so does my abs inop that one stays on all the time my back brakes need to be changed could that be the problem

No, I doubt that the condition of the brake pads has anythng to do with this issue. Did you check the third brake light? Does it light properly when you hit the brake pedal? Are you using LED lights as opposed to the standard incandescent bulbs?

i replaced all of the bulbs and no led lights just standard. there is no corrosion on any of the connectors. I just recently replaced my opti and broke a ground put it back on but idk if it stuck. Is there any ground wires for abs that ground on the block next to the AIR

Check the ABS sensors at each wheel ( if you have 4-channel) to make sure the wires haven't been damaged. If you have traction control you have 4-channel ABS and sesors at each wheel. If you have 3 channel ABS, the rear sesor is on top of the 'pumpkin'.
I think you can have the ABS scanned to find the reason for the fault.....
