Abs inop light questions
Let me start off first by saying that I changed my front shocks about 2-3 months ago and had to take off the master cylinder when doing them.
Anyways, about 2 weeks ago I get a abs inop light, so I check some fuses and my brake fluid...which was almost empty. I fill it up and still have the inop light. So yesterday when I was changing my front brakes I could hear the fluid being pushed out when I was pushing the piston back in the caliper. I looked around and found that my master cylinder was leaking where it attached to the booster, and that it had way to much break fluid in it. I know I didn't add that much. So I took some fluid out, put everything together, and took it for a spin. Still have an inop light, but the car stops fine, and master cylinder still leaking even though it is not full anymore.
So I guess my question is....could my abs inop be caused by my master cylinder leaking fluid. I am going to replaced the gasket and see if that works. After taking the master cylinder off the booster, do I have to bleed it when I put it back on?
Thanks.

Re: Abs inop light questions
I believe your ABS issue is separate from the fluid leak issue, but solve the fluid leak issue first. Replace your master cylinder which will need a bench bleed. The new part will come with instructions on how to bleed it. Your ABS issue is most likely dirty sensor(s) or a poor wire connection to the sensors.
