Question ABS inop/TCS off lights on together

'97 TA. I've been having this problem off & on for at least a year... Randomly when driving, my ABS INOP light comes on, and simultaneously, the TCS OFF light is on as well. Then they'll stay off for a month or so, but again randomly come on.

I also noticed lately that my car "shudders" when I'm braking, especially downhill. I can really feel it (and see it) in the steering wheel. The last time I had this, I needed new brake pads and rotors, but both front and back pads and rotors are less than 2 yrs old. I'll scream if I have to replace them again. I'm not rough on them (coming to sudden hard stops, etc), so I'm wondering if there's anything else that could be killing my brakes/rotors?

And does this have anything to do with the 2 lights coming on?
Anyone experience this?

Thanks.

I would try cleaning the connections on the positive/negative terminal posts on the passenger side shock tower. If you have loose/dirty connections, it can lead to both of those lights coming on.

Shuddering when braking usually means warped rotors.

I will try this first. Any precautions that I need to take - disconnect the battery or anything else?

Thanks!
