ABS wires

I am taking out the abs. If I cut the wires that go to each wheel, will it cause the abs light to come on?

Re: ABS wires

I think if you just dont want the ABS to work anymore you could use pull the fuse, which does cause an ABS light, but i think cutting wires would also.

If you actually want to remove the abs unit, you have to put in a proportioning valve.

Dont cut the wires. They can simply be unplugged & removed. As far as the ABS light, just pull your gauge cluster out and remove the bulb.

Re: ABS wires

the reason I ask is, I accidently pulled off the wire connector that goes to the front left wheel. I already removed the abs unit with no problems....no light or code. I don't want to replace the connector since the abs is gone anyways. So, I just cut the wires and used shrink wrap to seal off the ends. Just wondering if that will throw a light or not. By the way....I do have a proportioning valve for the rear wheels.
