Anyone have a writeup on removing springs?

I want to remove my springs, how should i go about doing this and what do i need?

be very careful... the fronts are dangerous...
I'd recommend taking the assembly to a mom and pops auto place and have them take the shocks off the assembly. Had mine done for 20 bucks each a few years back.

Harbor freight sells the tool for 20.00, and you can do them yourself, its easier to put them back on if you have a second person, remember to mark the shock, and spring perch, they wont go back in if the orientation is wrong. Also the top nut on a lot of these is rusted real bad.

speaking of the top nut... Once you do get your new shocks back on secure a piece of platsic over the bolt and nut so incase you ever want to change shock set ups or need to get them off again they wont be rusted through.

speaking of the top nut... Once you do get your new shocks back on secure a piece of platsic over the bolt and nut so incase you ever want to change shock set ups or need to get them off again they wont be rusted through.
My new ones came with a stainless nut and shaft this time around. Looks like it may have been a really common problem. We had to cut my old ones, they were so rusted.
