Best place to buy rotors

I am trying to find some decent crossdrilled performace rotors for a decent price. i have a 2000 Ws6, but is stock and doesnt really need anything huge.
i look in the Year ONe catalog and all of them were around $800!!! Is that way too much or is that the price i should expect everywhere, and where can i find some for a better price.

Are you buying just for looks or are you wanting better braking?

Re: Best place to buy rotors

If you getting them for better brakeing you should just stick with flat rotors. If your going for looks your gonna spend more replacing them in the long run.

Any place that sells Brembo OEM "blanks" like tire rack or stranoparts.com (call their 1-800 number)

Are these $100 dollar rotors made of gold? My rotors were 20 bucks. Back rotors were 18.

I agree, I got Wagner rotors for ~$48 each. I would expect later 4th gen rotors to cost more than early 4thgen rotors. Plus I'm not buying the cheapest I can find, the more expensive ones are usually at least a pound heavier which is beneficial.

Re: Best place to buy rotors

I bought Brembo replacement series rotors, the ran our CNC slotting program on them, whoever said that flat rotors brake better has obviously never experianced "fade". We build brake kits for several top race teams, and they all have custom slotting designs to help brake better when heat and gasses build up.

Re: Best place to buy rotors

A lot of the low cost rotors are not zinc plated and the "non-working area" rusts and looks like hell.

Nothing like trusting your life and the lives of others with a $50 rotor that's been drilled through. No increased chance of breakage there!

Re: Best place to buy rotors

IMO cross drilled on street cars isn't very smart. They crack easier, are a lot more expensive, and dont have as much sufrace area. Now about the racing teams having them. Of course if you are doing circuit racing or road course, they can have their uses, but these people change their entire brake systems often which keeps durability out of the picture.
