No, they didn't. I don't know why it's so popular for so many to assume that the SLP springs are Pro-kits... they are not Pro-kit rates or heights. Period.

And SLP shocks are NOT HD's either (at least the front valvings aren't, the rears are). They have rebound added and compression taken away when compared to the HD's.

So the entire statement above is.... incorrect.

Re: Bilstein HD Shock question

It's not really my issue if they are giving out incorrect information. I'm an SLP dealer as well at the other things I carry. I know what the parts are, including having valving information and spring rates on their shocks and springs. I also have that information for HD's and Pro-kits, and they don't match either.

All you have to do it check the specs on the springs.. SLP springs lower the car about 3/4". LT1 Pro-kits are about 1.25" lower, and LS1 Pro-kits are speced @ 1.5", but are sometimes as much as 1.75" lower. The springs are Eibachs, but are made to SLP's specs. They are not rebadged pro-kits. The shocks are Bilsteins, but the fronts have a different valving than HD's with about 10% less compression and about 20% more rebound. The "SLP" rear Bilstein's are in fact untouched HD's. They are the only one of the three items (front shocks, rear shocks, set of springs) that are off the shelf and available from other places.

You can choose to not believe me, but that is the case. And if you know much about me, I'm not big on making assumptions.

Re: Bilstein HD Shock question

Thats fines, I understand what your saying, but I was simply telling you what SLP was telling me. Because when I was deciding what setup to run, I was told what I stated earlier. Thats all I know. Sounds like you know your stuff so I believe you.

That's really sad on their part (or more properly, the sales guy you were talking too).... Good information is hard to find, and wrong information way too often leads to bad decisions.

Re: Bilstein HD Shock question

I still like how my car drives, the 18 in wheels is what makes it almost too rough, but it handles like a dream.

Re: Bilstein HD Shock question

Are the H/D's any good for drag racing? I would guess no.
