Are Bilstein HD's right for me?

Ok, so my car is a 97 Formy. My stock DeCarbons are crap [you already knew that] and are giving a harsh ride [then again, ohio roads aren't the greatest either]. I'm looking for a new set of shocks to give a better ride, especially over bumps and patched potholes, and better handling. I do not auto-x the car, but spirited drives around the country side aren't out of the question. My car is mostly a daily driver so comfort is needed. And one more thing, where's the best place to order a set of four?

P.S. My car is not lowered, and WILL NOT be lowered in the future [getting LT's later, and ohio roads suck anyway].

For one thing the Bilstiens are not going to give you that soft ride.

Re: Are Bilstein HD's right for me?

I ran the Bilstein HD's in the rear and Koni's in the front. I thought the ride was excellent, handling even better. Car had the feel of a BMW with these shocks. But I don't have to deal with many pot holes. Performance handling pot holes and large bumps don't normally go hand in hand. But on a normal road the bilsteins rode fine. I'd recommend giving Sam Strano a call. Very nice people and I'm sure he could recommend a set up that would work for you.

BTW I've got a pair of Strano Rear Bilsteins for sale, I'm going to a more drag race oriented suspension.

Yeah I was pretty impressed with mine as well. Big improvement over the stock shocks. Car road and handled much better.
