bilstein strut install

so i'm installing my new struts today and i cam across a problem, on the stock struts there is a washer that is pressed onto the top of the shock body that the bumper inside the shock dust boot hits when the strut is fully compressed, that washer doesn't fit on the top of the new bilsteins and was wondering if it will be a huge problem if i leave this off, any help would be greatly appreciated

Re: bilstein strut install

I just did mine today...pita to get the old shaft nuts off...but in answer to your question, I wouldn't leave it off. My Bilsteins came with with new shock body caps, a washer(to go on the shaft first b4 the boot, and new shaft nut.
