BMR, AJE, or PA k-member for LT1?

All three companies make tubular k-members for 4th gen LT1 cars. Who has which, and what's your opinion of it? BTW, will they work with MAC mid lengths?

Re: BMR, AJE, or PA k-member for LT1?

I have been to AJE Racing. Anthony makes some really good K-members. The BMR K-member won't clear mid-length or shorty headers. I called them and they told me the BMR K-member was designed aroung long tubes. AJE's K-member will clear. He told me that if it will clear the stock member, it will clear his. I personally think the AJE unit is stronger, especially if you get the one that's reinforced for road racing. It's a solid piece. It also works with the stock mounts.

I just checked out AJE's web site, and I must admit I'm very impressed with their Y2K k-member. It looks like I'll be buying one from them.
Thanks for the tip.

Re: BMR, AJE, or PA k-member for LT1?

I have liked all the BMR parts on my car. The K-Member I received was simply off. The mounts were about 1/2" to the right of where they were on my stock member. Thus, the headers were lying against the frame rail. We are still in the process of trying to work it out. I am going to assume it is hit or miss on the K-Member.

A few ppl that claim PA is lacking in strength and causing alignment issues.

K-member, BMR vs. PA?

Those pictures are not the right ones. I have some pictures of the road-race reinforced version, but I don't have a way to host them. I'll email them if you'd like to see what the AJE K-member looks like.

Re: BMR, AJE, or PA k-member for LT1?

I have the BMR unit and overall it seems to be a quality piece. One of the holes for the steering rack was off a little, but the die grinder took care of that.

You can pick up a PA cheaper, but I have heard of people having issues with them.

I can't remember the price difference for sure, but I think it was $30-$50 more.

I'll email the pictures.

Nice. That looks soooooo much better than the pictures on the site. I think I'll go with AJS's reinforced one.
