The reason the bottom of your car doesn't rust is that its made of galvinazied steel, with factory GM paint that is far superior to what comes out of a can.

so gm paint doesnt come in a can? what does it come out of? a bag?

You will be hard pressed to find a painter that will agree that factory paint is better then something you can buy.

go and buy some of the hammer paint, or buy galvanize in a can stuff and then paint over that. or get some of the rubberised paint.

Buy paint made for metal, prep it correctly, and put on a couple coats and you wont have any problems.
