Brake question ?Caliper
Hi, I have a 97 Firebird 3.8 and have a problem with the brakes: the car brakes OK at Highway Spped, but with minor pulsating. Now, when I come to a slow stop (say going 10mph in stop go traffic) it freakes out. The brakes stop the car to almost a complete stop but then just let go right before it fianllly stops. Right before it stops I can hear what sounds like the ABS letting off ?
then the car will litearlly coast for about 10 feet then the brakes kick back in a pull the car to a complete stop...
I am thinking this may something with the Piston sticking while pusing/realaxing the pads so I am going to reaplce the whole Caliper / Pistons on both sides ( recently put new pads & rotor) .. does this sound like a logical solution or is this maybee is this something with the ABS?? ( every once in a while the "low trac" ligth will come on when the car is doing the coasting thing but then go of imeidatley after the car stops)
any help is grately appreachaited
