Brake sizes?

I have put 17" rims on my camaro and want to get bigger/better brakes to fill the empty spot. What size is the LT1 brake? Also, are the LS1 brakes bigger? If so, would that be the best choice to go with for a reasonble price brake swap? Any thoughts would be helpful. Thanks

The LS1 brakes fill the wheel much better but still leave a little room. The best fit would be a 13" setup (C5, Wilwood, SSB, Stoptech, etc), but for the cost difference the LS1 brakes are the best for price/performance.

C5 isn't much more than the LS1... just a $300 bracket. And the rotors for C5's are cheaper to replace than the LS1's so in the long-run you're probably better off with the C5 stuff assuming you:

a) have 17" rims
b) have AAA (and no intention of using the 4th gen spare tires)

You can of course buy a 5th wheel and go with a full-sized spare, or even purchase a C4 spare tire (which will fit over the C5 hardware) but they obviously won't fit in the F-body's spare tire storage area... although a nitrous bottle or 12" sub do fit nicely there in its place I'm told.
