brakes

how hard is it to install new brakes and how long does it usually take?

If you mean rotors and pads, about 1 .5 hours per side your very first time and maybe 45 min per side after that, including jacking and wheel removal. Check the facs and stickys for instructions and make sure you use Hi temp thread locker.
You can do it w a set of box end wrenches once the wheel is off and a Helms manual is also a very good idea, and will give you full instructions for that job and everything else you never realized y0u could do yourself.

I would call it an easy job and a good first wrenching project.

After doing it a few dozen times, and now that I have an air impact wrench, a torque wrench, and bigass floor jack, I can change rotors and pads in 20 minutes per wheel.
