Re: Brembo rotors...worth buying???

I would never buy a cross drilled rotor unless it was purely for show.

Slotted are cool and perform well in the rain. They take away a minimal amount of braking power due to the slots in dry weather. I like the look too.

I'm getting solid rotors with my C5 upgrade, and I'll see how they perform in the rain. If they don't work well in the rain, I'll get slotted.

Powerslot rotors are slotted and zinc coated. You can find them at www.thunderracing.com and at www.tirerack.com They cost a lot though. It depends on how much you want to spend.

On the Ebay site, I would probably chose:

Probably not. Personally, I would buy the Ebay ones.

Rotors can warp, even the best rotors can warp, so may as well give something a try that's a little less expensive. My 2 cents.

power slot makes rotors called "pro stops" that are slotted and have dimples in them to make it look like cross-drilled...i was looking at maybe getting those??? http://www.thunderracing.com/catalog...&vid=3&pcid=21

I wouldn't buy cheap drilled rotors or you will regret it. Most of them have no warrenty and will crack between the holes within months. Although I can't fine him anymore, I bought my Powerslot rotors from THIS Ebay seller for $350 for all four. He even shipped me C5 front and LT1 rear rotors. I have abused the **** out of these rotors and have yet to warp them.

Re: Brembo rotors...worth buying???

so you think that even the Brembo cross-drilled rotors would have cracking problems between the holes even with Brembo's high-quality products??? i was just wondering cause you wold think if you pay 4 or $500+ for rotors that they wouldn't have problems like that??? thanks

Re: Brembo rotors...worth buying???

The minute you drill into any rotor, you weaken it. Whether it's the casting or metallurgy, the plain Brembos seem to stand up well to real abuse.

How to know if slotted/drilled rotors are for you:

Are you going to run them for open track road course events? (If yes, don't buy, if no, continue)

Are you going to autocross them? (If yes, don't buy, if no, continue)

Is it unacceptable to know that you cannot "turn" or "cut" the rotors in the event that they warp or you wish to mate them to a new pad? (If yes, don't buy, if no, continue)

Do you prioritize function over form? (If yes, don't buy, if no, continue)

Do you mind paying more for an inferior product? (If yes, don't buy, if no, continue)

Do you like to buy things because they look or sound cooler than they really are? (If yes, and you made it this far, blingin' cross-drilled and slotteds are for you.)

Hope that handy guide helped.
